Youth work has shaped me in ways I never expected—it has taught me patience, empathy, and the power of listening. One moment that stays with me vividly is from a mentoring session with a young participant who was struggling with self-confidence. I remember them hesitating to share their ideas, but over time, they began to open up and take pride in their contributions. The look on their face when they realized their voice mattered is something I’ll never forget.

Another memory is from organizing a community event where youth led their own projects. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and support one another reminded me why this work is so meaningful. It’s not just about guidance—it’s about creating spaces where youth feel empowered to grow, express themselves, and build confidence.

Youth work has shown me that even small acts—listening, encouraging, celebrating successes—can have a lasting impact. These moments stay with me as reminders of why I love this work and why I’m committed to supporting young people in every way I can.
