How might we move beyond identifying the service needs and gaps Black youth face, to pro-actively designing pathways to inclusion in the youth sector?</a></p> <div class="bb-content-inr-wrap"><p>This is a great point we focus on in my work! There should not be any shame or blame on those who get any type of support or have gone through certain unfortunate things. It is important to put those things aside and instead realize these people are in need of support in many ways and that if we can help we should try. </p>

We must let these youth speak for themselves and advocate for themselves about these issues. It is our place to help them learn to do this in an effective way as well and even at times to provide those platforms for them to speak. Accepting our biases, thoughts, beliefs, etc. and challenging or learning from them is important in this case. As well, much of what we do in my practice again is what other people have said in putting our thoughts aside and hearing those other people out, learning not from our&hellip;</p>

Many people do not talk enough of these issues or advocate for them in order to stop them. Also, we are not taught enough about these issues and it seems they are kept mostly out of the spot-light.&hellip;</p>
